Came here with a friend to try out African cuisine, our very first experience. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining what some dishes were and told us what other customers were having to give us an idea of what the food looked like. He also boiled hot water for me since they don’t serve hot drinks. I needed it as it was very cold that day. I ordered the grilled croaker that came with plantain and coleslaw accompanied by a fish sauce. It had a good spicy kick, obviously. Very tasty, did find the fish very dry, maybe that’s how it should be. Loved the fish sauce, plantain was a bit hard, but a good portion. The menu stated salad with the fish but it was coleslaw, l didn’t like it. I think it’s best placed with a simple salad as the fish was already flavourful. My friend had the lamb suya with yam soup which was delicious, very tasty and flavoursome. Our waiter then packed my fish to take away since l couldn’t finish it. I hope he enjoys the large tip we personally handed him. The ladies toilet is downstairs, it’s clean and big, so could ideally fit another cubicle. Overall, a lovely meal. We hope to be back soon!

Went there on a Sunday for a normal meal and was told we could only have the Sunday buffet menu and standard menu bookings start at 6 pm. I will suggest that customers should be served according to whatever preference they so desire and not limited. Luckily, we still had a few things to do in the area, so we left and came back at 6 pm. We were seated and served, although I had to ask a member of staff before our orders were taken. Food, to be honest, was reasonably priced and tasted good. The portions were also very good . Cocktails are good, too. The ambience is very nice although music is a bit too loud. Overall, it was not a bad experience, but customer service could do with a bit of improvement.

This spot is more than just a restaurant; it’s a cultural experience marked by rich flavors, welcoming service, and an inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, the decor reflects the energy and spirit of African heritage, creating an ambiance that complements every bite.

The highlight here is undeniably the food. Dishes like the grilled croaker with plantain and a uniquely spicy fish sauce deliver bold, robust flavors. While the fish may be drier than expected, the accompanying sauce and sides balance the dish beautifully. The lamb suya paired with yam soup is another standout—rich, tender, and deeply satisfying. For those who love variety, the Nigerian buffet presents a cornucopia of flavors, expertly prepared and restocked promptly to keep every plate fresh and vibrant.

Service at Enish Old Kent Road further elevates the experience. Attentive staff members go beyond expectations, from guiding newcomers through the menu to accommodating individual needs—like boiling hot water on a chilly day. This warm hospitality fosters an inviting, home-like environment that encourages guests to relax and savor their meals.

Beyond the cuisine and service, the lively entertainment—such as live sports screenings and nostalgic shows—adds a unique layer to the dining experience, making it a perfect spot for both casual nights out and special occasions. While some have noted room for improvement in customer communication and ambiance noise levels, these do little to overshadow the overall charm and quality of this establishment.

In essence, Enish Old Kent Road is a shining example of African culinary craftsmanship in London. It beckons food lovers seeking hearty, flavorful meals paired with genuine hospitality. Whether indulging in a well-crafted cocktail or diving into a savory dish, visitors leave with a satisfied palate and a desire to return.
